liquid fuel Hiking Stove

Liquid Fuel stoves are a more economical choice in the long run and don't suffer the depressurization problems that a canister fuel source has towards the end of the canister fuel supply.  The fuel storage container can be opened and refilled by the user.  Fuel types depend on the hiking stove being used but range from white gas, gasoline, diesel and kerosene.

Pros:

  • Best cold weather fuel choice
  • Cheaper fuel
  • Reuseable fuel container
  • Cheaper cost long term

Cons:

  • More expensive to purchase
  • Fuel spills are a hazard
  • Require priming before use
  • Pre-heating needed before each use
